Back to School Swag! Free backpack from Lands' End

[And the winner is kellyache: Please contact me at crabmommy[at]gmail[dot]com and claim your prize. Whoo hoo, Kelly!]

Momfriends,

I know the kids have already gone back to school but I'm sure some of you are still letting them lug last year's backpack around, to which I say SHAME ON YOU!

But, take heart, for the lovely people of Lands' End are giving FREE to one winning Crabmommy reader a fantabulous new Multitask Backpack! See it here:
And see it also in blue for boys (or for girls who don't like pink, just as the pink could certainly be for more gayish little boys...Crabmommy DOES NOT STEREOTYPE so feel free, winning entrant, to BE RADICAL and choose AGAINST THE GRAIN):
The Multitask Backpack is indeed one very swanky and swagilicious backpack featuring:

* Stash panel for a jacket, sports gear or bike helmet
* Separate bottom chamber to stow a set of shoes
* 360° reflective trim to keep kids visible
* Mesh side pockets to hold water bottles
* D-ring to clip on extras, like a lunch box
* MP3/CD player pouch for tunes
Yup, people, looks like we have swag again here at Crabmommy and I think that while we may not agree on Sarah Palin and her choice of baby names, we can agree that the odd swagtastic giveaway can only bring us together here at this very blog.

Rules: Put your name in the comments and I will randomly draw a winner on Monday night, 8pm PST or thereabouts, according to my whims. The winner then has 24 hours to contact me and I will post their details to Lands' End who will in turn send out the backpack!

Fancy!

I hope your tykes are enjoying their back-to-school initiation; more to the point, I hope you're enjoying your empty nest and not weeping into your oatmeal like a bunch of wussies.

And here I thought I was the only procrastinator who didn't fight crowds for a back pack yet. My poor deprived first grader would love some new crap carrying digs!

My little man is back pack obsessed....degio/dora related I'm sure... He's not yet in school but seems to tote around more books, doodle pads and writing utensils than a high schooler!! A multi functioning back pack would certainly serve it purpose here!

My eldest would love it!! She goes hiking with a group on weekends and her school pack is having to moonlight as a day pack.

Ooooh! PINK! My dotter would love it--she, too, has been assimilated into the Kultur of PINK.

I will not offer any reasons why I deserve it, just draw my name, please.

PS Apropos of nothing, I have been meaning to tell you for some time that, for a very long time, I thought the picture of the Baby Einstein cult leader--er, founder--was a picture of you (I know, I know, don't hate me)! I think it speaks to my poor reading comprehension skills.

Well, we're homeschooling this year but mommy could use a fantabulous new backpack. In pink, ensuring the tots will keep their paws off it!

That's not pink, that is super pink, pink on steroids, mondo pink.

Ok, its not a sissy pink and it will hide more dirt.

I would love to have a backpack in our home that doesn't have Spiderman, spongebob, or any other character on it!

Would sure love a pink backpack for my poor deprived kg'ner..... She is toting an old worn and frayed pink backpack. Mom is too cheap to buy new one until the swag is falling out of this one......... A free new one sure would be nice for this cheep mom's kg'ner....

I had a Lands' End backpack when I was in school, back when a reflective strip made it fancy. That there is ultra fancy.

I hate to be contentious - but - why do you need a backpack for a new year? I have backpacks that are 10 years old and still more than serviceble.

If you do insist on changing your backpack each year, please please consider donating your old ones to this charity:

http://www.marysmeals.org/backpack_project.html

Fill it with a few standard school supplies (pencils, notebooks, etc), and it is donated to children in the developing world, who otherwise would not be able to attend school due to lack of supplies.

A more than worthy cause, I am sure all of you would agree.

jen!
my comment about "old bakcpacks" was a joke! The Crabmommy adores recycling! I like your website suggestion very much, especially because I am actually from THE DEVELOPING WORLD, as in Afrique. But indeed do I also like Lands' End for offering a backpack to those whose kiddos haven't got one yet...or who have an old one that is being passed on to a little bro or a thrift store.

I still have my Land's End back pack from college (we won't go into how many years old that makes it) I would love to have that same quality and durability for my little one.

I have my ol' Land's End bp, too...from HS. I used it through college and now it's the stay-at-home-dad diaper bag/back pak.

And, I would never cry into my oatmeal, crabmommy. Who eats oatmeal???

Finally, a backpack worth having! Geez the selection for kids these days sucks! Unless you're into princesses or Batman crap.

Uh! How did you know she's walking around with last years' backpack? Oops. Well, this Heather is hoping to win the pink one. Full grain here. Nothing but girly girl.

Cool bag! Thanks for doing things like this and the chance to win! ;)

Lands' End backpacks are the best-- I still have no. 2 from high school, which was a free (!!!)replacement after no. 1 succumbed to heavy use. I practically lived out of that thing!

Would love to present Brayden with her first backpack. Nothing but pink for this girly girl!

Up here in the remote north, we have to fly out every two months for our daughter's lung check-ups. That backpack would be perfect as her own carry-on luggage.

Pick me! My son would think it was the most wonderful thing in the world!

I could use a new backpack for my daughter. She has been complaining about carrying last year's bag. I enjoy your blogs!'

My niece is heading off to preschool in a few weeks and I would love for her to have a grown up backpack instead of the horrible Dora one she has now.
