On A Lighter Note: Or, Let's Get Back to Dollar Store Giveaways

I feel I've been getting heavy on this here blog. And maybe it's time for a lighter flow...or none at all. Stay with me. I'm talking about my beloved Christian-owned Dollar Store of Crabtown. Where, as some of you remember, I have walked in search of prizes for my Dollar Store Competitions.

Crabtown's Dollar Store yields an intoxicating mix of Chinese-made product off-gassing and such mystifyingly beautiful treasures as mango-flavored pineapple strips and Crucifixion stickers.

And today, at checkout, I saw the best DS product yet: a no-name pregnancy test.

And so I put it to the floor: are you brave enough to try it? How long has it been on the shelf? Ask and ye shall receive...from me...your very own Dollar Store pregnancy test. Because when you really want to know the answer, you might just get one from a cheapo prego test.

Then again, you might not.

So, who's in? Put your comment in the hat and you too might be the proud owner of a DS prego test!

p.s. If you are more inclined to the higher end, stop by my bloglet for products of egg-shaped loveliness in celebration of Eastertide.

I'd try it. Of course, I'm seven weeks along now, so it's not like it would be telling me anything new. Although we might learn a lot about dollar store pregnancy tests if it came up negative.

This site rates pregnancy tests and the dollar store tests actually do quite well. I used dollar store pregnancy tests for both of my pregnancies and they are actually more sensitive then some of the more expensive brands.

I couldn't believe I was pregnant at first. The lines on the First Response test were so faint I just didn't believe it was true. A few hours later, I was at the dollar store and saw those tests. I bought five. The lines on them were anything but faint. I honestly think they are better than the expensive tests at drugstores.

I am thrilled to find out about the dollar store pg tests. How have I missed this in my own Dollar Store adventures?
DH & I are doing what feels like the millionth round of clomid and Crabmommy, if you don't send me this fabulous prize, then I'll just have to go to my own dollar store and get some for myself.
To try and make myself look more deserving to receive this Major Award I have a real quote about dollar stores from a local paper in Shreveport Lousiana to share with you all

Debra Jackson said she likes shopping at the Dollar Palace because it is convenient and casual.

"I don't have to get all dressed up like I'm going to Wal-Mart or something," she said."

found your blog through Guy Kawasaki's twitter. My gosh, you're a scream. It's so funny, I love the light hearted banter, but I especially love your tagline, "because loving your child is a given but loving motherhood isn't."

I have purchased the prego test. Anyone who wants one leave a comment and I will close comments and have Crabtot do the drawing exactly 30 days from now--time enough for you all to get knocked up.

wynne,
that is one og the greatest quotes of all time.
I totally relate to Debra. Getting dressed up for Walmart is terribly time-consuming. Sometimes you just want to slum it with the peeps over at the DS.

I just happened to stumble across your site on a search for consumer reports on Dollar Store pregnancy tests, I have now taken about 10 pregnancy tests from the dollar store. According to my cheap ovulation tests, I was ovulating around April 22. I have started taking the pregnancy tests calculating that the egg should attach any day now if I have had a successful fertilized egg.

I have now had 3 tests with a faint line, but the bad news is, last month I also had a test with the faint line and I wasn’t pregnant. So, now I am confused. I am wondering if anyone else has had these faint lines and it turned out to be a negative test.

my friend isnt pregnant and she's tried them for fun and it just said she was positive when she wasnt, which was a little funny. Howvere the dollar store is perfect for other things!
