Shortest Post in Crabmom History

I know it's wrong.
But I feel sorry for O.J.

There. I said it. I can't help it. I just do. I don't know why.

I know he's a murderer. But I always feel sorry for the wrong people.
Anybody else? Or am I a MONSTER?

Crabmom,
I'm with you.
My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I really feel bad for OJ. I was in college when the murder happened, and, many years later, I'm now a lawyer, and really believe that he was acquitted, and should not have been treated by a complete outcast--because our system, a jury of his peers, found him not guilty. Yet the same system allowed him to be financially liable to the families of the victims because the standard of proof is lower.

Then, OJ makes a bad decision, the guys who took his stuff even said they didn't want him to go to jail, and he gets 15 years.....rough. Seeing him teary on TV made me feel bad.

B,
Let me be clear: I think he IS a murderer. But I still somehow feel slightly bad for him. And it's not right and I don't know why I feel sorry for crazy murderers but every now and then...Can't explain it.

Funny, haven't even cared. Karma is a funny thing though.

Who is OJ?

Of course you feel sorry for him!
He was The (black) Man of his era. Woopsy. Did I say something about race?! Well, the acquittal turned him white. So now, as a first time offender facing an unfair sentence...I guess he's black again!

I don't feel sorry for this homicidal maniac at all ... call it what you will: karma, poetic justice, irony, whatever...he finally got a fraction of what he deserved 12 years ago.

I wouldn't say I feel sorry for him. However, I sure think he is stupid. If I was him, after I was acquitted I would have just hidden out of the public eye and enjoyed the rest of my life.

B, Esq, I totally agree. I will never understand a legal system where you can sue someone for something they were previously acquitted for. Also, as for suing someone for murder, how can money get back the person you lost?

i DON'T feel even slightly sorry for him. and i feel really sorry for anyone who does because you've clearly lost your perspective. what if he had killed YOUR son or daughter? how quickly we forget. he is a cold blooded murderer. PERIOD. feel sorry for his kids - they get to hear about how their dad nearly decapitated their mother because she tried to get on with her life. if you were sucked in by his crocodile tears, you need to reevaluate your ability to tell sincere people from snakes in the grass, or some day you (or your child) may get taken in, and later taken advantage of, by someone just like OJ. It makes me SICK to see things like this - especially from WOMEN! get in touch with your GUT, you know, the thing where the baby came from? if you do, the very sight or sound of someone like OJ will turn your stomach faster than morning sickness. unbelievable!
