Interesting that intense BE watchers knew words like "truck" and balloon" but not so much "Mommy.""The most important fact to come from this study is there is no clear evidence of a benefit coming from baby DVDs and videos, and there is some suggestion of harm," Zimmerman said in a statement.
Julie Figgerton-Whillicker must have her knickers in a real knot today. Her PR peeps are probably writing statements as we speak, and hopefully she is getting her hair re-shellacked and her tan re-applied for the media. Maybe she will tell us all that she is sorry if she misled anyone. Maybe she'll also say it in Spanish, Russian and ASL.
Thanks A&A for this priceless link.
It's like they did the study just for you. Next out will be the study that proves watching Road Runner, Tom & Jerry, Three Stooges and Popeye actually raises one's IQ. That and eating unlimited quantities of Twinkies and frozen pizza.
ReplyDeleteEventually all things perceived to be "good" are proven worthless. In this case, I agree with the findings :)
ReplyDeleteI liked your way of putting it better... they're just idiots! Haha.
ReplyDeleteJane, P&B Girls
Throwing their artwork in the bin and slapping them to sleep, surely must add a few iq points too! Right?

I read that too! I guess nothing can beat actually TALKING to your child to help them develop...
ReplyDeleteWHOODA THUNKIT????
For me, it was enough that the products were heartily endorsed by POTUS during his State of the Union address earlier this year. Anything he thinks is that great must be bad.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll just keep reading to my kids until it is proven to be a hindrance as well.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that Disney might not be able to hook in as many of our kids at age zero... and will have to wait for them to watch Mickey's Clubhouse.
